Twining is a village in Arenac County of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 192. The village is situated on the boundary between Mason Township on the west and Turner Township on the east, with about half of the village in each.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.5 km²), all land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 192 people, 76 households, and 51 families residing in the village. The population density was 200.4 per square mile (77.2/km²). There were 79 housing units at an average density of 82.4/sq mi (31.8/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.04% of the population.
There were 76 households out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.7% were married couples living together, 14.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.6% were non-families. 27.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 3.06.
In the village the population was spread out with 24.0% under the age of 18, 9.9% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 24.0% from 45 to 64, and 14.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 88.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.3 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $31,875, and the median income for a family was $31,875. Males had a median income of $40,313 versus $18,750 for females. The per capita income for the village was $13,744. About 22.4% of families and 25.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 40.5% of those under the age of eighteen and 6.3% of those sixty five or over.
