Twinbrook (Irish: Cill Uaighe; meaning church of the grave) is an electoral ward of Lisburn city council currently part of West Belfast parliamentary constituency. It was created in 1985 after the large Collin ward was split in three.Twinbrook is a republican stronghold and I.R.A. hunger striker Bobby Sands lived in the area.
Under current proposals for the restructuring of local government in Northern Ireland, an expanded Twinbrook ward is to become part of Belfast city council.
