Twilight Incident
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Twilight Incident is an event depicted in the fictional universe of the .hack franchise that encompasses several video games, anime and manga.
The Twilight Incident, also known as Pluto Again, and the Second Network Crisis (which was the official name the Media gave it afterwards in the fiction) is CC Corporation's private name for the disasters depicted in the .hack//Games.
It involved the massive blackout and system shutdown at Yokohama, which resulted in multiple car accidents and fires everywhere in the city. Also several coma victims from the virtual-reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game called The World, and various other system malfunctions in other parts of Japan, including a blackout at Nizato University Hospital, where Orca was hospitalized in the .hack//Games storyline.
The Twilight Incident was caused by the glitching Morganna System, but was eventually resolved in the .hack//Games storyline by Kite's party and resulted in the death and rebirth of Aura, the Ultimate AI.
As told in the .hack//AI buster 2 novel, the man held responsible by CC Corporation was Kazushi Watarai, despite being hospitalized for the majority of the incident. Watarai was forced to resign soon afterwards.
