The current picture of a "400 series" locomotive is incorrect. The streamlined locomotive shown was not used on The 400. This locomotive is really a 4000 Class locomotive used on different trains and the image is cropped such that the fourth digit does not appear.

The 400 started with rebuilt Class E-2a locomotives that were not streamlined. They were replaced by diesel locomotives.

The original 400 was renamed the Twin Cities 400 as Chicago and North Western added additional 400 trains serving other routes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.139.233.0 (talk) 04:05, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

I think that is correct. I have lost the book I had about the 400 passenger trains, but I believe they might have been used on the Chicago-Omaha Kate Shelley 400, or the Chicago-Mankato Minnesota 400. Group29 (talk) 15:35, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
