[edit] Storyline
The game begins as the Drengin continue tearing each other apart to decide whether the rest of the galaxy should be destroyed or merely enslaved. Little did the two warring factions know that they were being pushed and pulled by the Dread Lords who had retreated to the shadows to regroup for their next assault. Meanwhile, one lone human ship manages to escape the galactic scale massacre and run across one of the Arnor, a race thought fully extinct at the hands of the Dread Lords. The Arnor tell the humans that in order to have any chance of destroying the Dread Lords, they'll have to collect all of the crystals the race uses to manufacture their fleets and destroy them in a supernova.
The plot borrows very heavily from the early '90s game Star Control 2, with most of the plot still intact, and names of races and characters strategically changed.[citation needed]
Obviously supernovas aren't exactly an every day occurrence and waiting around for one would most assuredly take longer than is healthy for the rest of the galactic races. Hence the return of the Terror Stars. Players will have to build and wield one of these massive Death Star-like vessels to cause the supernova that destroys the crystals and saves the day.
