The Llangollen Twenty Club Amateur Players is one of the oldest amateur dramatic societies in North Wales, being founded in 1946. The name comes from originally having 20 members, of whom one, Betty Lowe, is still actively involved as Life President of the club. Since its formation, the club has produced over 100 plays, normally at a rate of two a year. The productions are generally either comedy dramas or period pieces. The club's first production was 'Distinguished Gathering'. 2006 is the club's 60th Anniversary year, and several events are set to take place to celebrate this, including an exhibition devoted to the Twenty Club in Llangollen's museum.
Plays take place at the Llangollen Town Hall, and as a member of the National Theatre for the Disabled, the club also performs for residents of a Cheshire rest home.
