[edit] Current Status

I added a small note to each Sword as to it's current location as of the end of Shieldbreaker's Story. I wish there were a stronger template than just {{spoiler}} since this gives away a lot of information, but these are old books :) Kutulu 21:01, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

Duh, nevermind. For some reason I was under the impression that at least Coinspinner was still active. Good thing I re-read Shieldbreaker's Story to make sure :) Kutulu 21:21, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Coinspinner

(and, on at least one occassion, leaving behind a gold coin bearing the image of Hermes)

Where does it say this?...if I recall correctly this is mentioned as a rumor started up by the people in one of the early books but it was actually untrue...

I'm pretty sure this is what happened when it vanished from Mark's armory. I will have to go find a reference. It's also possible I'm confusing this with Hermes's "buying back" the swords near the end of Book 3 from their current owners. Kutulu 07:59, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
It definitely occurred in The Second Book of Swords. Mark and Ben were going to retrieve Coinspinner and Dragonslicer which they had hidden away years ago. Dragonslicer was in place, but Coinspinner had been replaced with the coin. At the Beginning of Woundhealer's Story, it's mentioned that a similar event is rumored to have taken place. There, however, the sword had simply disappeared without any exchange.
Having just finished reading the books today, can say with some certainty: the sword had been taken by hermes, who was collecting all the swords. he left a coin with his image on it when he takes dragonslicer from ben in The Second Book of Swords as well. So it would not be a mystical power on coinspinner's part to leave coins behind. L.cash.m (talk) 10:47, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Emperor

I don't recall any good evidence from the books that the Emperor is truly immune to any of the Swords. In the scene where he resheathes Soulcutter, there is pretty good evidence that he's weilding Woundhealer, which would act as an effective antidote to the other's effects.

I'm going to cut that part out for now. If anyone can offer evidence otherwise, they're free to re-instate it.
