[edit] Weekend format
At the weekend TV3 News @ 5.30 is TV3's only news bulletin. It generally has only one presenter, Alan Cantwell, Colette Fitzpatrick or Elaine Crowley. There is one sports presenter and weather consists of a video with a voice over by the news presenter.
[edit] Nightly News with Vincent Browne
In early 2008, TV3 launched Nightly News with Vincent Browne, a new news programme to replace News Tonight. The programme runs from 23.00 - 23.30 from Mondays until Thursdays.
The programme starts with a look at what is coming up on the show. This is followed by a short news bulletin (of approximately five minutes) with one news presenter. After this Vincent introduces his two guests and discusses the day's news with them. After a short commercial break they look through the next day's papers, and discuss the stories within them.
The programme is broadcast from the news studio, albeit on a separate podium to the news desk. It has a red and black background theme, as opposed to the blue theme used for other news bulletins such as News @ 5.30.
[edit] Nightly News
Nightly News airs at 23.00 on Friday nights. It is a fifteen minute news bulletin and is presented by one news anchor, from the news desk with the Nightly News (red and black) background in the news studio.
