[edit] WFOX-FM new format

Neither the station's official web page nor a Google search on WFOX reveals that your edit to WFOX (FM) is correct. Where did you get it from?? Georgia guy 21:02, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

I listened to it today. Trust me, I live in Atlanta. Cox will update once they all come off break. ---Tv's emory 01:00, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:XMfootprint_small.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:XMfootprint_small.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 09:02, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] thank you!

[edit] List of XM Satellite Radio channels/Update

This has been moved to User:Tv's emory/List of XM Satellite Radio channels/Update until it is ready to "go live" on April 17th. Once that happens the whole history should go into whatever the article is in question - ask me if you don't know how to do this. -- Francs2000 01:04, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

I certainly didn't know I COULD do that. --Tv's emory 04:49, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Yes you can. The problem with posting it where you did is that due to the nature of Wikipedia the information goes live as soon as you post it. While it's in your user space it's not live yet. If it's an update for an existing page the history will need to be merged into the history of the article and only an admin can do that so let me know when it's ready to go live. -- Francs2000 11:41, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
It'll go live on Monday. The history isn't too important since it's just some minor errors/typos. I compiled it at once because it's such a major change for the XM radio lineup across platforms. --Tv's emory 04:26, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:FL970 ramp sign.jpg

Issue solved.

[edit] Thanks for the south Florida roads pictures!

Many thanks for the great pictures for the Miami-Dade County State Roads - they were most definitely needed. You scored a coup with the ones for SR 970 and SR 907A as the latter has only one assembly and the getting a good shot of the former is not the easiest thing to do. B.Wind 00:29, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:DolphinExt-4.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:DolphinExt-4.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:XMfootprint small.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:XMfootprint small.gif. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 23:22, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recently Spun off Article on O&A Enemies

The article has already come under fire for proposed deletion as being "Uncyclopaedic." (The only word used in the argument.) Your support to the issue would be greatly appreciated. Payneos 06:01, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Current Opie and Anthony Stations, WMOS-FM

According to the Arbitron, WMOS-FM is considered part of the Nassau-Suffolk County, New York Market #18, Not Connecticut! If you had read the Opie and Anthony Talk Page you would have seen that was pointed out. I am reverting your edits because the information from Arbitron prevails. Misterrick 03:49, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

First, where does Arbitron say this? I didn't realize some ruling from a third party research organization was absolute. --Tv's emory 19:04, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template for XM Channels

Nice work creating a template for the XM Satellite Radio Channels. Love the idea of splitting the music from the other channels. I was going to suggest it but I didn't think it would be approved.TravKoolBreeze 22:01, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

It was actually going to be both at first but it looked huge and cluttered. Usually AM and FM templates for terrestrial markets are separated. --Tv's emory 02:13, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

There might be some placement problems for some of the talk channels. I recently recieved this:

"Please do not add navigation templates to only marginally related articles. I'd suggest you remove the template (if it hasn't been done yet) from all articles which are not directly about XM Radio (such as National Basketball Association, Big East Conference, U.S. Open (tennis) etc.) Femto 13:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Many of the articles for athletic leagues or conferences and news channels or other content providers already contain a link to XM Satellite Radio. It would be more appropriate to place the template there (it is not there now) rather than in all of the other pages. If all media which covered athletic events or carried content were to place templates, program guides, or similar tables on all articles related to those events or that content, such additions would overwhelm the articles. So my suggestion is to limit use of the template to articles specific to XM. Thank you. Kablammo 14:28, 21 November 2006 (UTC)"

I understand what they mean for the conferences, but as for the other content providers & the PGA Tour, those are directly related to the template as they are exactly channels. If you could find better placement for them, would you please help out. There should be some way that those other content providers link. TravKoolBreeze 20:28, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

I didn't really have intentions to add them to the conferences or the traffic cities, but moreso to the full-time linear channels. I'm not a real picky Pete about the templates and try not to treat wiki articles as my precious work that just oh so needs to be everywhere, so if conference articles just mention XM as a carrier, that's fine.
Here's a funny comic about wiki shit like that. http://shmorky.com/leisuretown-shmorky/1.html --Tv's emory 23:58, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm not worried about it its not going to be there. I put there, they take off, they gave me a good reason and theres no way around, just keep it moving then. :))TravKoolBreeze 11:27, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page moving to all CAPS

Please do not move articles to a naming convention that uses all CAPS, even if the name is copyrighted. Furthur moves like the ones to The Virus (XM) and Extreme XM will be reverted. Thank you! semper fiMoe 07:20, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:XM Sports Nation.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:XM Sports Nation.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] XM satellite logos

Where do you get your channel logos, since I noticed that none of them seem to be sourced? In addition, the Radio WikiProject might interest you. --PhantomS 04:20, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

They come from the channel guide PDF file. http://www.xmradio.com/pdf/channel_guide.pdf --Tv's emory 00:06, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed removal of Category:Radio_programs_on_XM_Radio

Hi. I have just proposed merging Category:Radio_programs_on_XM_Radio into the American radio programs category. The discussion on whether to carry out the merge is here, where I give my reason. If you wish to comment, please comment there, not here, because any comments made here will likely not be seen.--greenrd 15:02, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ReachMD in Talk or Regional

Would it be better to ReachMD in the talk section or in the Regional section? Both sections have CC channels but ReachMD seems more of a talk channel than the other Regionals. Also, where did you find that a lot of the college channels were moving?TravKoolBreeze 15:50, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

I put ReachMD there because that's how it's listed on the XM units, along with WLW and WSIX. Program guide hasn't been updated, so who knows how that will look. Also, I found out about the sports channels via a new guide I got in the mail (that actually didn't include ReachMD). --Tv's emory 15:53, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, that's a plus of having a unit in person as to not being near one for a good part of the day. Any other changes mentioned on the new guide? TravKoolBreeze 16:01, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
No. It was just a sports channel guide. Nothing about the Canadian channels either. --Tv's emory 16:08, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding edits to Crayon Shin-chan

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Tv's emory! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Circle 6888A6.gif

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Circle 6888A6.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 02:20, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:202VirusLogo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:202VirusLogo.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
