This article is about the Kenyan beer. For the Vanautuan beer, see Tusker (Vanautuan beer).
Tusker is a Kenyan lager named in memory of the East African Breweries founder, George Hurst, who was killed by a bull elephant. Africans were not permitted to drink the beer by the colonial rulers until 1952.
Tusker is available in original, malt and export brandings, and in a variety of quantities. The majority of Tusker is sold bottled or canned, but may be available on draught where sanitation permits (such as tourist areas).
In early 2008, the UK supermarket chain Tesco began selling Tusker.
