Tuscola is located in Douglas County, Illinois. The population was about 6,000 at the 2000 census.

Tuscola Township covers an area of 62.66 square miles and contains one incorporated settlement, Tuscola. According to the USGS, it contains three cemeteries: Mount Zion, Nelson and Tuscola Township.
