Turn of the century

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Turn of the century, in its broadest sense, refers to the transition from one century to another, although in both common and formal use, it usually specifically refers to the transition from the 19th century into the 20th century. The term is most often used to refer to a vague time period; if, for example, a novel takes place in "turn of the century England," that means it takes place in England, circa 1900.
