Turmberg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Turmberg ('tower hill'), located in Durlach, a suburb of Karlsruhe in Germany is a hill (elevation: 256 m) of the Black forest with a castle ruin from which you can get a fine view of Karlsruhe towards the west and the River Rhine valley, and on very clear days, even further west the Vosges in France (the River Rhine being the border between Germany and France (Alsace)). As the Turmberg is the most North tip of the Blackforst, you can, looking south and east see the Black forest, see rather hills than actual mountains.
The Turmberg can be reached by the Turmbergbahn, a funicular railway.
