Turmalina (record)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Turmalina was produced by Latin maker Kike Santander and reflects and important step forward in Natalia Oreiro's musical career. The album was recorded in US, in the middle of the artist's worldwide tour. Natalia travelled with her musicians from Russia to Miami, from Miami to Prague, from Prague to Bucarest, from Bucarest to Miami for several months. This experience turned to be exhausting but truly amazing. Natalia enjoyed it very much! Turmalina is a perfect combination of rhythms such as rock, pop and some sort of reminiscent of the 70's and 80's sounds. It also combines murga, candombe and unforgettable ballads you won't be able to resist. Everything carefully followed by guitar and percussion arrangements specially made by Uruguayan talent Jaime Roos.

But in this new album Natalia goes beyond her own imagination. She happily dared to write and composed the songs: "Alas de libertad" (Wings of freedom), which is inspired on kids she met some time ago in the city of Jujuy, in Argentina. "Mar" (Sea) tells the love story between a sailor and his girlfriend. Natalia also collaborated with the lyrics of "Cayendo" (Falling) and "Caprichos" (Caprices).

"Que digan lo que quieran" (Should they say whatever they want) is Turmalina's first single. "Cuesta arriba, cuesta abajo" is the song related to the soap opera Runaway Lady". The album will have a simultaneous release in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Czech Republic, Russia, Hungary, Greece, Romania, Israel and Korea.
