Turk Leroy Schonert (born January 15, 1957 in Torrance, California) is the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League.[1]
Schonert is a former 6'1", 195-lb. quarterback who played ten NFL seasons from 1980-1989 and was used primarily as a backup for the Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. While with the Bengals, Schonert was on the sidelines as a backup quarterback in Super Bowl XVI and Super Bowl XXIII, but did not play in either game. He played college football for Stanford University.
Schonert was the quarterbacks coach for the Bills until January 2008, when the previous offensive coordinator, Steve Fairchild, left to become head coach at Colorado State University.[2]
