Turbinellidae are a family of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the order Sorbeoconcha.

[edit] Distribution
Species in this family are found world-wide, mostly in tropical shallow waters.

Most members have massive shells with three or four prominent columellar plicae. Deep water members are rather small however, of light build, elongate-fusiform shape, the anterior canal a long slender prolongation of the body whorl, and the anterior end is spout-like.
