Am slowly creating this page. Hopefully will get contributions from other members but please hold any criticism until completed IndianSunset 15:26, 11 May 2006 (UTC) Some progress now, slight worry about overlap with entries for individual stadia/sports venues...but generally the other entries do not talk too much about the maintenance of the pitch/surface or about the issues involved. IndianSunset 19:40, 14 May 2006 (UTC) Ok,will start to ask opinions now IndianSunset 15:52, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

  • One addition to tthe cricket section would be the use of portable pitches. This is common in New Zealand in dual-use stadia. Basically the pitch is perpared on a concrete tray and dropped into place. Unfortunately some of the results have been pretty disappointing. Lisiate 22:30, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Looking good. I updated the section headings to conform to manual of style guidelines. --GraemeL (talk) 16:20, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
One criticism. As it stands, the article is unreferenced. I presume that most of the detail was researched at the external links near the top of the list. If so, you might want to convert some of the external links to references. Personally, I think the footnote method looks the best. --GraemeL (talk) 16:31, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
