Tunnel of light

The tunnel of light is an element of the usual near-death experience. People experience floating upwards peacefully through a long tunnel, at the end of which is a beautiful demulcent light. It remains to be determined whether this phenomenon is universal or not, and whether it is subjective or objective and/or the result of a physiological phenomena.
