Tungipara (Bengali: টুঙ্গিপাড়া) is an Upazila of Gopalganj District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the birthplace of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is considered as the father of the nation and founder of independent Bangladesh.

As of 1991 Bangladesh census[1], Tungipara has a population of 88102. Males constitute are 51.25% of the population, and females 48.75%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 42147. Tungipara has an average literacy rate of 33.3% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. [2]
