Tullyallen

Tullyallen (Irish: Tulaigh Álainn) is a village located 5.7 km north-west of Drogheda in County Louth and is adjacent to the M1 motorway. The name Tullyallen derives from the Gaelic "Tullach Alainn" meaning Beautiful Hill. Tullyallen is in the Parish of Mellifont and the ruins of the nearby Mellifont Abbey date back to 1142.
