Tuesday (film)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tuesday is a low-budget heist film set in the 1980s, starring John Simm and Phillip Glenister as criminals.

Filming wrapped at the end of May 2007 and is currently in post-production. The film also stars Ashley Walters, Kevin R Mcnally, Cristian Solimeno, Linal Haft and Alex Macqueen. The plot revolves around a jewel heist, where more than one group of thieves are after the large emerald in the bank's safe.

Written, produced and directed by Sacha Bennett, the film unfolds in a series of flashbacks from each of the character's perspectives. A similar story-telling device was used in Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon and the television series Boomtown. Links to Stanley Kubrick are weaved through the film also, with the obvious connection to The Killing and, more subtly, The Shining.

The same team of the award-winning short film Devilwood rejoined for Tuesday and further collaborations have been suggested with the expanding cast and crew.
