Tucson Theological Seminary

Tucson Theological Seminary Opened in 2005. A Tucson campus and internet-based seminary allows ministers, career changers, and other professionals to bypass years of seminary to become ordained ministers. This alternative to traditional seminary programs was funded by private parties in 2005 to create a lower cost seminary education and a fast-track curriculum for the seminary to meet the need for more Christian ministers in the field. But critics of the initiative--including academic university seminaries--say it's a poor substitute for the rigors of traditional seminary programs, which often require a Bachelor’s Degree and three years of seminary before certification. NOTE: university seminary degrees are awarded at a cost of $20,000 a year and take at least three (3) years to complete. Tucson Theological Seminary is affiliated with American Evangelistic Association - a nationwide organization which began in 1954 and has 60,000 members who ordains the seminary's graduates. Tucson Theological Seminary seeks students who are interested in becoming ministers but can't take the time from work and incur the great expense of completing a traditional seminary program. Students include lay persons wanting to enter ministry, working ministers who seek certification to minister in their subject area, and persons changing careers. Tucson Theological Seminary offers AA, BA, MA and Th.D religious degrees.
