Tub'a Abu Kariba As'ad
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tub'a Abu Kariba As'ad was the Himyarite king of Yemen. He ruled Yemen from 390-420 CE.
[edit] Invading Yathrib
Abu Kariba invaded Yathrib (now Medina) to sack the Jews of that city. However, somehow he returned to Yemen with two rabbis and became a hjlk convert to Judaism. Many Yemenites followed their king, and conversions into Judaism became common until the Aksumite invasion of Western Yemen forcing the Himayarite king, Rabiah ibn Mudhar was forced to flee.[1]
