Tuanku Muhammad

In full: Colonel His Highness Paduka Sri Sir Tuanku Muhammad Shah ibn al-Marhum Tuanku Antah, GCMG, KCVO, (25 April 1865-1 August 1933) was the first Yang-di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan. He ruled from 1888 &mdash 1933. During his reign, in 1889 Negri Sembilan came under British protection. In 1895, Negri Sembilan entered the Federated Malay States. Three years later, Sir Tuanku Muhammad Shah was duly elected the first Yang-di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan. He died in 1933 after a reign of 45 years, aged 68.
