Tu Tsung-ming

Tu Tsung-ming (Traditional Chinese:杜聰明, August 25, 1893 in Tamsui - February 25, 1986), also translated as Tu Chung-ming or Du Chung-ming, is the first medical doctor of Taiwan. He recepted his MD degree from Kyoto Imperial University in 1922.
In 1954-1966, Tu founded the formerly Kaohsiung Medical College (now Kaohsiung Medical University) and became the first president of the College. In addition to participating in medical education, he also contributed in pharmacological and toxicological researches.
