Coordinates: 16°09′30″N 80°34′59″E / 16.1583, 80.583 Tsundur is a village and a mandal in the Guntur district of the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. [1]

[edit] Tsunduru unpleasant incident

The village became infamous for the sensational killing of 8 dalits (Malas) on the 6th of August, 1991, when a mob of over 400 people, composed of mainly Reddys chased down the victims along the bund of an irrigation canal. In the trial which concluded, 21 people were sentenced to life imprisonment and 35 others to a year of rigorous imprisonment and a penalty of Rs. 2000 each, on the 31st of July, 2007, by special judge Anis.
