Tsumihoroboshi-hen (罪滅し編 Atonement Chapter?) is the title of the sixth game of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series and additionally is the second game of the "answer" arc, spanning a total of four games. It was first released on August 14, 2005 at Comiket 68. Later, a manga was adapted from this part of the story. Finally, in the anime series, Tsumihoroboshi-hen spans episodes twenty-two through twenty-six, which ended the first season. The epilogue of Tsumihoroboshi-hen was moved to season two's first episode with some minor changes.

Unlike Meakashi-hen, Tsumihoroboshi-hen is a totally different story where Rena undergoes a similar situation that befell upon Keiichi in Onikakushi-hen. This chapter explains many details on what went wrong in Onikakushi-hen, except this time the "victim" is Rena. This chapter ends triumphantly, but the post-game TIPS reveals that their fate hasn't changed.

The Tsumihoroboshi-hen manga illustrated by Karin Suzuragi which began serialization in the Japanese manga magazine Gangan Powered in the summer of 2006. Later, the individual chapters will be collected into three bound volumes published by Square Enix, the first being released on December 22, 2006, the second on June 6, 2007 and the third on December 22, 2007.
