- 1895-11-04: Station opens.
- 1918-04-17: Tsukuba Railway Line opens from Tsuchiura Station to Iwase Station.
- 1943-10-26: Three trains crash at Tsuchiura killing 110 people.
- 1987-04-01: Tsukuba Railway Line closes.
