[edit] License tagging for Image:CarnackiCvrWiki.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:CarnackiCvrWiki.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:06, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edit Summaries
Just as a note for your future reference. Generally its recommended to be nice, and not just on talk pages. This includes your edit summaries. It is possible to offend someone with a less than kind edit summary. Example. You replaced the image of the Amazon kindle a while back, which is more than fine. But writing "The last pic was terrible" in the comments does not make you any friends. The "last pic" was made by a human after all and could come back and see that their picture had been replaced - and even find their edit. And yes, the original picture of the Kindle was mine. Luckily I don't take offense that easily. Just something to keep in mind for next time. --ShakataGaNai Talk 06:24, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- Howdy. I got your note on my commons talk page. Thanks for the response. I have to say, I completely understand you defensiveness over people "Attacking" your precious electronics. I'm a geek - I do it too. As for the quality of the picture, you are right about the colors being off - it looked fine (fine being "ok" in terms of colors, not great) the screen I originally made it on - but I'm sure you understand how LCD's aren't necessarily reliable in terms of color reproduction. I will endeavor to better color correct my photo's next time. Oh, and I really do like your picture. Mine was designed to be a very "stock" shot, while yours makes it feel human. Keep up the good work - and continue feeling bold in replacing pictures with better ones (even if they are mine ^_^). --ShakataGaNai Talk 01:17, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
