[edit] Wikipedia Cat Lovers' Committee

Tryforceful, I can see from your userboxes that you love cats.

Would you be interested in joining the Wikipedia Cat Lovers' Committee?

If you want to join, you can add yourself to the members list, and contact me, Sergeant Snopake, on my talk page, or the committee founder, GeorgeMoney, on his.

The Wikipedia Cat Lover's Committee has also been nominated for deletion.

Whether you join or not, please could you comment on the deletion page to help keep the committee going.

Please vote keep.

Thank You very much! :)

I also notice that no one has said welcome yet. Well, I'm not part of the welcoming committee, and someone will probably do it properly later, but here goes (for now):

WELCOME!!
I hope you like it here and decide to stay!

The Legend of Zelda is such a great series! I can never choose between A Link to the Past, and Ocarina of Time! They're both such great games.

[edit] Ancient Greek Wikisource

I understand from your userboxes you're interested in Ancient Greek. I've submitted a proposal to add an Ancient Greek Wikisource on Meta, and I'd be very grateful if you could assist me by either voting in Support of the proposal, or even adding your name as one of the contributors in the template. (NB: I'm posting this to a lot of people, so please reply to my talkpage or to Meta) --Nema Fakei 20:10, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hey, *here's* a suggestion

This bot should not just automatically remove images from wikipages they are found on; this is a destructive action which could be dealt with in many better fashions. Better yet, why not have the bot tag or note the images in question as "unsourced", so that thereafter the author or uploader may correctly append that information? This way there is no defacing of articles, nor hostility in seeing someone else's work just disappear.

Some images which this bot removed recently, and which consequently brought this bot to my attention, can extremely easily have source info added to their written descriptions. In those cases, for example a certain video game screenshot, let's say, the source information is obviously a no-brainer to any human being who looks at the picture, whereas to bureaucratic wikilaw there may be an error of omission.

Don't delete. Don't destroy.

--Tryforceful 08:56, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Here's an idea: Category:Images with unknown source is viewable by anyone. Why don't you go through it and pick out the game screenshots, and provide the appropriate source?
The images that OrphanBot removes from articles have already been tagged as "no source" or "no license" for at least four days. Every week, OrphanBot hands out roughly three thousand notifications to users that images they've uploaded are lacking source, copyright information, license tagging, or a fair-use rationale. If the users choose to disregard those notices, it's not my problem.
If you want, I can have the bot notify you of every game cover, screenshot, or any other category of images that it encounters. Just tell me what templates you want notification about and what page you want it to put the notices on. --Carnildo 06:34, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] All Things Avatar

Where did that episode template come from? It's nice. However, I would make the header color the same as the Avatar template possibly or maybe add a picture of the Water and Earth symbol next to the book name. Of course, if you didn't make it I'm not sure why I'm telling you these things :-P. Atleast we now have a template to put at the bottom of episodes. H2P 08:13, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Why thanks, I'm flattered! [I did make it ^_^]. Sure, the color of the header doesn't really matter. The reason I changed it is that I've seen templates from Wikiproject-worthy topics that have different-colored headers for each type of template, like characters, enemies, episodes, places, blah blah blah, to keep them all looking nice and distinct if they're ever put into the same article together, like a character who might be an enemy, whatever. It doesn't really matter; change it if you'd like. As far as the pictures, sure, that too, but personally, I'd wait until we get better thumbs than these ones:

Image:Waterbend.jpg Image:Earthbend.jpg Image:Firebend.jpg Image:Airbend.jpg

'cause I think they're rather crude... and I plan on making better ones in the future anyway ^_^.

Because it's already done? ^_^ --Tryforceful 06:14, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Ah, ok, I see it now. I was looking for a longer name like the minor characters link :-P. Thanks. H2P 06:16, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Nice userbox. I have the utmost confidance that you can create better elemental symbols. I tried and pretty much failed on Air and Fire. H2P (Yell at me for what I've done) 10:34, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Zelda

Well, since the heading of the template is "Enemies in The Legend of Zelda series", shouldn't it be the same with the name of template? --TBCTaLk?!? 02:46, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

I know, that makes sense. I really just made an arbitrary choice in naming it, but seeing as the majority of people who ever see the code of Wikipedia are those who in fact edit it, I figured that it would aid Wikipedians to have it singular. Whatever the template header says doesn't need to have much relevance on the name of the template, and people will understand that {{Zelda enemy}} directs to a template that lists more than just one enemy.
It really is arbitrary, and I just wanted to stick with the conventions of whoever it was that made {{Zelda character}}. Either way, every Zelda template should have all-plurals or all-singulars, so if you feel strongly enough, please change the others to plurals as well. Otherwise, you or I can change back {{Zelda enemies}}. --Tryforceful 02:56, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
...On second thought, why bother ^_^. Plurals are fine, I'll go ahead and change the others. --Tryforceful 03:06, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Zodiac

Hey, thanks for fixing my template. I'm not much of an artist, but something really needed to link the zodiac stuff together. It looks much nicer now. --Todd 19:51, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:User Zelda

Tryforceful, could I ask you to please consider an alternative to the three-triangled triforce on this template? In the original, The Legend of Zelda, the triforce was only one triangle. A triangle is too simple to be accused of being copyright infringement if we can provide a source for the entire image without modification. I've also left a note on the talk page for the template suggesting an image in which a sword, shield, and/or yellow triangle are used. I'm not suggesting to use the Zelda logo; perhaps taking an actual shield image and laying a sword overtop of it? I'm not very good with MS Paint and I don't have photoshop, but it's a suggestion all the same. I too want this userbox to look as good as possible on my userpage. Thanks for uploading Image:LinksAwakening_Spectacle.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. [edit] Spectacle Rock

I discussed it at the Zelda project. - A Link to the Past (talk) 04:21, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Also, the LADX Spectacle Rock image really isn't a good image for the Spectacle Rock section; it cannot be affirmed that this is indeed Spectacle Rock, only speculated. Also, because Link is absent from the screenshot, it would not work on the LADX article. - A Link to the Past (talk) 17:12, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

But it's original research, period. A similar design does not constitute fact. - A Link to the Past (talk) 07:36, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
