Just wondering if you have any sources for the "green" info you added to VU. I've heard these things, too, but would love to see a source. Thanks! —  MusicMaker5376 19:32, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Localgod Clothing

You deleted my page without responding to my question. You requested that I explain why my page wasn't blatant advertising on my talk page and I did. That page was VERY time consuming and was in no way advertising for the company. There is not a single link contained within the article that give users the opportunity to purchase the shirts or even a link to find out where the clothing can be purchased. That article was written and posted in the same vain as rvca stussy and volcom...none of which have been deleted. Though those brands may be slightly better known, with over 200 stores worldwide, Localgod Clothing is definitely a company of note. The articles refrenced are completely verifiable and validate that the company has recieved national media coverage and is thus very notable. I request that you put the page back immediately or make a very specific list of changes that need to be made to prevent deletion.
Thanks, --Joshuakopel (talk) 20:23, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rice Hall plus other Cornell University buildings

Hi Truthanado -- Although the new Rice Hall article is very short, it and several other articles on Cornell University buildings are expected to grow, and would be too detailed for inclusion in the main Cornell University article. See how long is the Cornell list within List of Registered Historic Places at colleges and universities.

FYI, for another university in Minnesota having 4 NRHPs, I think it was Carleton University or Carleton College, the editors just went through similar reasoning to decide that they did not want the NRHP infoboxes for each of the 4 sites included in the university page, they should be included in separate articles instead. Each NRHP site is notable and worthy of a separate wikipedia article already.

So, while I don't want to remove another person's merge proposal without discussion, if you agree with me you might yourself remove your own merge proposal. Or keep talking... Cheers doncram (talk) 22:23, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Got your reply with suggestion that I add a section on Historic Sites within the Cornell University article, like the section within Carleton College. Good idea, I took action and did it! Thanks for taking out the merge proposal and for the helpful suggestion. Hope you like it... doncram (talk) 22:59, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] re: Xbox 360

I have seen that History of video game consoles (eighth generation) has been created and deleted several times, and your content was similar to what was included in that article(s). When I said "primary source" I meant Microsoft because they will be making the next Xbox console and until they say something about it, all thoughts and comments about it are just speculation. I realize that Wikipedia has no set policies in place regarding speculation about future consumer products, but the first sentence in the fourth point under WP:REDFLAG illustrates what I am trying to say: that until Microsoft says something about their next console, any and all speculation about it is just that, speculation, and should not be included in Wikipedia. I apologize for not being clear in my edit summary and I hope this incident will not damage your opinion of me as a Wikipedian. Regards, Thingg (talk) 03:23, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Count Sensendorfer

There is nothing preventing either you or the editor you mention from creating the article, but while we await that having an unsourced article with more tags than content saying no more than the guy was a baseball player is of no use to restore. If someone wants to create an article that meets the guidelines and contains sufficient context from which someone would know it meets the guidelines, you're free to do so. [edit] deletion

this article is just as notable as any other LE agency. It is part of List of law enforcement agencies in Maryland and Wikipedia:WikiProject Law Enforcement. If we merge this, then the PGPD and PGSO articles should be merged into the county article, along with NYPD and LAPD into the city articles and every other LE article. Also, I understand it is a little bare now, but if you look at the list of my contributions, you'll see that I fill them out to be self-sufficient. Give me more than three seconds with an article before you want to throw it away or merge it. Thanks. Sallicio (talk)Sallicio —Preceding comment was added at 03:17, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] hey, i moved to rochester recently

Are there any Rochester groups online or offline for Wikipedia? Kingturtle (talk) 13:37, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't think so - or at least, not that I know of. I always feel like I'm the only one obsessed with Wikipedia. It makes me sad :(. Haha. But the category that Kingturtle was never "technically" made, so I created it, so now it's just Kingturtle and I in it. Category:Wikipedians in Rochester, New York - Maybe I'll make an infobox for it, and we can get other Rochester users to add it :) --Dan LeveilleTALK 01:54, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Haha, yeah. I ran into a guy who was from Rochester, which was really weird because it was a discussion about US Schools - nothing relating to Rochester. I'll work on a userbox sometime soon. What major did you graduate from? I'm in New Media: Interactive Development (which is basically web development) - It's a part of the IT department. (By the way - I added a colon to the link so it's clickable - instead of the nowiki tag.) --Dan LeveilleTALK 02:27, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of William Beldue

A tag has been placed on William Beldue requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Toddst1 (talk) 00:43, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] J-Rich

Hi, you added the NPOV tag to Jason Richardson in August of last year, but I think by now the article has been pretty neutralized. It looks a lot different than it did back then, and I can't really see any POV problems, although I have to admit that I'm am a Warrior fan. ;-) Please let me know whether you think removing the tag would be a good idea or not. Thanks, Bash Kash (talk) 05:55, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

I removed the NPOV tag. It was originally added because of the text that talked about him mesmerizing the fans with a behind-the-back dunk, and that has been removed. Thanks for the reminder. [edit] Typo redirect Bald Eagle-Nittany Athletics

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Bald Eagle-Nittany Athletics, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Bald Eagle-Nittany Athletics is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Bald Eagle-Nittany Athletics, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Thanks for adding material. I hadn't really heard much of him, except that his name came up more than once as I was researching discographical data on various songs. So I figured I'd look up what I could find and get rid of the red links. I'm primarily interested in songs of the 40s and 50s, but a lot of them came out earlier and were revived in the 40s and 50s, and I've lately come up with a lot of good sources for info on those old songs. -- BRG (talk) 15:43, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Samuel Kauffman

Here are the criteria allowing an article to be deleted under G1: "Patent nonsense and gibberish, an unsalvageably incoherent page with no meaningful content. This does not include: poor writing, partisan screeds, obscene remarks, vandalism, fictional material, material not in English, badly translated material, implausible theories, or hoaxes of any sort." (emphasis mine, obviously). As for what we should do now, I'd suggest either prodding it or taking it straight to AFD. In the meantime, I've marked it as a hoax. [edit] Pittsford Mendon High School

Although I understand some of your recent edits of the Pittsford Mendon High School article (especially those about removing unused infobox items), I would like to ask you about some of the changes:

  • The {{factt}} is a typo that does not properly resolve ... it causes a red "Template:Factt" in the article; this was corrected a few revisions ago. Why did you restore it?
  • In the Feeder patterns section, you added the word "Currently". This was also removed a few edits ago because the word "currently" is redundant and unnecessary. Every statement in a Wiki article is the current status unless it specifically references a date or time.
  • The {{Geolinks-US-buildingscale|43.059983|-77.518845}} already exists in the infobox and is not needed at the end of the article. In fact, its presence there causes a double overwrite at the top of the article. It too was removed in an earlier revision.
  • Why was the [[Category:Monroe County, New York]] tag removed?

It looks as if the article was reverted to an earlier revision, although your edit summary does not say that. Would you please consider the above comments and make any changes you feel are appropriate. Thanks. Truthanado (talk) 02:29, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

  • I apologize for any lost data. If I edit an old version to remove vandalism, I have seen situations where other changes are lost if another edit takes place. I'm sorry for any confusion and will do my best to correct the article to reflect the changes you identified (if they haven't been corrected already). Alansohn (talk) 03:15, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
    • Again, my apologies, and all of the issues you identified seem to have been corrected in my latest edit. Alansohn (talk) 03:19, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] American River (disambiguation)

Hi Truthanado,

I generally assume that the main page (ie. the page to which a user is taken when typing the title into the search bar) is the primary topic. My reasoning for this is that if that page (in this case, American River) was not the primary topic, then it would not be the main page to begin with. If "American River" is deemed to be other than the primary topic, then it should be moved from its current title and the primary topic should take its place. If there is no page that could be considered primary, then the disambiguation page should be located at "American River".

I must apologize for reverting your edit without mentioning it to you on your talk page. I normally appreciate that courtesy, and I should have remembered to do so in this case.

You're overthinking things. The media doesn't cover nine-over eight seeds as if they were big upsets. They don't get anywhere near the attention other upsets do.
