[edit] Reverting Montevideo

Thanks for reverting 163.153.6.210's edit to Montevideo. The district reports that they found the student and have taken appropriate action. --NERIC-Security (talk) 17:10, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to British Airways Flight 38, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. -- John (Daytona2 · Talk · Contribs) 09:02, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The SHARP System

I have removed your speedy delete tag, as I believe the article makes assertions of notability. PROD or AfD are probably best for this article if you feel it needs to be deleted - Fritzpoll (talk) 14:23, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you!

I just created my first article & am still finding out how to do stuff (tutorials only help so much w/ a luddite like me). Thank you for your formatting assistance. It all looks much nicer now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Themadblonde (talkcontribs) 17:52, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sapir College article

As webmaster, here at the Sapir College, I noticed that there was already a initial page for the college, but as I was told, the name Sapir Academic College is taken as a grammatical error in english. Firstly I have added the history content there, but just after some verifications I saw that as the right I was able to create a new article with the right name of the college. Meanwhile a took the liberty to delete the first content after the creation of the new entry.

As for the contents. The history of the Sapir College was written by the president of this institution. As far as I understand, there is no tendentious or provocative contents. If there is any material that is not appropriate or no compliant with the policies of the wikipedia, I'll be able to repair.

Finally, I'm new aroud here as a content editor, so any help I can get about the policies and right way to publish contents, I'll be glad to contribute. --Sapirwebmaster (talk) 13:34, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

O.K. I think that now I started to undertand and maybe the text need a reformulation. For the time being, I think better to delete the contents at all until a reformulation. Many thanks.--Sapirwebmaster (talk) 15:57, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Osisioma

Oops, sorry, I meant to drop you a note and forgot. I removed your speedy tag because we don't delete material that can be rectified. You're right that the page was blatant propaganda as it was, but I reduced the information to a teeny stub (see this diff) and it's now developing as a geographical article. Take a look! Anyway, thanks for tagging - admins depend on people like you to point us in the right direction. --Dweller (talk) 13:41, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Boat Race and Championship Course

TrulyBlue, I've drawn a public domain map of the course and added it to the Boat Race and The Championship Course articles to go with your landmarks tables. Could you take a look to sense-check it please? You were right about the Stag Brewery name but I wonder whether to call it the Mortlake Brewery anyway. The dimensions of the river and bridges are exaggerated to make the map clearer at low resolution. BTW if you know anyone who could donate a shot of the Boat Race Start that would be very useful - I've never watched the race from anywhere downstream of the Doves. Pointillist (talk) 23:16, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

By way of example, my original image is on the Boat Race article, and the version on The Championship Course has area labels (e.g. Mortlake, Putney etc) added. The question is whether the area labels make the map too cluttered. Pointillist (talk) 00:17, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
  • The maps are absolutely great and my only question is whether my tables of landmarks are now needed - they look clumsy compared with your elegant maps - the region labels are fine - they don't clutter the maps at all. Well done, and thanks. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the start or know anyone who might. TrulyBlue (talk) 11:49, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Glad you liked the map. I will try to do an SVG version next. IMO your table of landmarks should stay: the coordinates are useful (where did you get them?) and it is a good home for comments on the course (e.g. Craven Cottage, Hammersmith Bridge etc). More comments would be useful, e.g. all that stuff the TV commentators come out with about 88% or whatever of crews that are ahead at Barnes Bridge go on to win (which I why I was standing there in 2003 and missed photographing the close finish, but that's another story). Re: the table layout, what might be good is to add little thumbnails to each row in the table. I had been planning to walk the course anyway (I suppose I would have to do it twice, once on each bank) so I can capture the images. What do you think? Pointillist (talk) 17:29, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Thanks very much for barnstarring me! It will motivate me to get a proper shot of the "black" buoy. - Pointillist (talk) 12:51, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Marc Metdepenningen, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Marc Metdepenningen. [edit] Alexander Melnikov

Thanks for your alertness on takking this article for sources. However, since I createed the article less than thrtee minmutes before you tagged it and was not yet finished working with it, aren't you being overtly hasty? I believe an apology would be in order, for which I will be waiting in expectation. Thanks. Jonyungk (talk) 18:45, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Please read my message once more. Tagging an article less than three minutes upon its creation is highly unreasonable as well as abusive. If I need to refer this to Andy Wang, I will. Jonyungk (talk) 00:54, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] sand box

Hi,

How do I create a sand box for work in progress that will not be deleted right away? Thanks.Giovanni33 (talk) 16:51, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] adenin TECHNOLOGIES

This is in regards to a deletion you made for adenin TECHNOLOGIES last week. You cited advertisment as the criteria for deletion. As you can see I am new to this Wikipedia thing. I am having problems because I write something and I get dinged for notability or advertising. Alot of times I am even using other listings as a template. For example the article you deleted I cited companies that use the products produced by adenin. I am assuming that is what the advertsing was. Other companies use clients in their listing. Is that permissable? How is Intranet Dashboard not advertising? I have used awards as notability as well and it has gotten me no where. Could you please give me some advice?Amyyaley (talk) 02:40, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
