User:True manna

My role on Wikipedia, thus far at least, is to provide balanced, well-referenced information for the Mannatech page. There are plenty of rabidly pro-Mannatech sites out there. Wikipedia shouldn't be one of them. I also periodically browse Glyconutrient and Multi-level_marketing.

A bit about me: I have a PhD in Cell Biology and Genetics and I work as a professor at a Canadian university. My handle "True manna" alludes to Jesus of Nazareth, who claimed to be "the true bread from heaven" - a reference to the Old Testament story where Yahweh feeds his people in the desert with bread from heaven - manna. It also seemed appropriate to counter pro-Mannatech misinformation with this handle, because "Manna"tech tries to get psedospiritual mileage out of their name. Mannatech is often marketed in churches, taking advantage of a pre-existing, trusting community. Bottom line: Ambrotose isn't "bread from heaven" - Jesus is.

If you want hope, don't turn to Mannatech - what Jesus offers is F R E E ! Just imagine Jesus setting out to be the messiah by introducing a multi-level marketing scheme...
