Trustafarian
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Trustafarian (or Trustifarian) is a disparaging term for a young adult who is the beneficiary of a trust fund, a multigenerational investment vehicle typically set up by wealthy families for the perpetual financial support of their offspring, who embraces a hippie lifestyle, stereotypically involving the wearing of dreadlocks, as the Rastafarians do. The implication is that the Trustafarian is a poseur, not a "real" or "genuine" hippie or Rasta, as "real" hippies are poor but the Trustafarian receives regular income from the trust fund and has had access to social institutions that most hippies and Rastas have not, such as top schools.
