Trumann is a city in Poinsett County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 6,889 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Jonesboro, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.8 square miles (12.4 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 6,889 people, 2,734 households, and 1,913 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,439.7 people per square mile (555.3/km²). There were 2,998 housing units at an average density of 626.5/sq mi (241.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 0% White, 100.0% Black.
There were 2,734 households out of which 32.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.7% were married couples living together, 15.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 26.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the city the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 90.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.1 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $126,533, and the median income for a family was $132,297. Males had a median income of $126,196 versus $118,828 for females. The per capita income for the city was $112,419. About 17.4% of families and 21.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 28.5% of those under age 18 and 19.4% of those age 65 or over.
