[edit] History
In 2001 The Old Truman Middle School received some of Mason Middle School's students because Mason was building a new school. In the 1990's Truman Middle School was also making a new campus in Pearl and 35th street of Tacoma the new builind was opened in the school year 1999-2000 but it was not all done at that time many deails needed to be finished but luckly that did not affect the education of the students, for example the clock tower it was completely finished but it was not installed (they intslled it in the middle of the school year) and today it still has some dificulties the hour hand is missing and it does not moved. The first teacher to see the campus is probably Nanci Cornell who was taing the 1998-1999 7th graders to see their new school. The other teachers sawit in August.
[edit] Classrooms
Truman Middle School has state of the art classrooms with laser projectors andat least 4 or 5 MAC Computers. Also each classroom counts with ne tv and a VHS exept for science classrooms who actually have two Televisions. So far there are 4 computer labs in Truman Middle School one in the library another one in The Red Team (upstairs 6th grade) aother one in The Purple Team (next to Red Team) and one in the Green Team (next to Blue Team which is the 6th grade downstairs). The art room includes a dark room and is the size of two stacked rooms for hanging pieces of art. The science room (2704) in the Purple team is considered one of the safeat class rooms because it has a closet that can be used for hiding on a lock down.
