True was the third studio album by British New Romantic band Spandau Ballet, released in March 1983. It was heavily influenced by jazz, soul, and R&B. It reached #1 on the UK charts, the top twenty in America and in numerous countries around the world. The title track was a top five single in America, and in 1991 was sampled by the spiritual hip-hop act PM Dawn on their single "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss", R&B music act Lloyd Polite "You (f. Lil Wayne)", Filipino singer Arnee Hidalgo and on rapper Nelly's track "N Dey Say".
Other singles from the album included "Gold" (a #2 UK hit and a Top 30 hit in the U.S.), "Lifeline", "Communication" and "Pleasure". Later releases by the band never equalled the success of True, and they broke up six years later.
