Trudy Desmond (unknown - 19 February 1999) was a jazz singer. She sang standards in a cabaret style, with little improvisation but a clear voice and light touch. She moved from New York to Toronto around 1970.
She recorded four albums: RSVP (1988, Concord Jazz); Tailor Made (1991, Jazz Alliance); Make Me Rainbows (1995, Koch Jazz); My One and Only (1998, Justin Time). All four albums are represented in a career-summing compilation, A Dream Come True: The Best of Trudy Desmond (2005, Justin Time).
Trudy Desmond was an original member of the Canadian sixteen piece ensemble Dr. Music, led by renowned musician Doug Riley. She is listed as one of the singers on the group's first album, Sun Goes By (1972, AGEK-2550).
