[edit] Vandal reporting
Thank you for you efforts in reporting vandalism atWikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. It would be helpful if you would include a short description of the vandal's activities (see the instructions on that page for more information). Happy editing. No Guru 20:17, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- Also, don't forget to substitute vandalism warnings, use the format {{subst:test}}, for example. Thanks for your help! Prodego talk 20:19, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reporting users to AIV
Hi, I am glad you are helping fight vandalism! Just remember to only report vandals if they have recently vandalized and have vandalized more than four times (of course that can be bent a little if they are doing something very serious). Blocking is a preventative measure, and not a punishment. Happy editing!--Kungfu Adam (talk) 20:18, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Blumpkin
Characterizing Brian G. Crawford's reverting of Blumpkin to a Howard Stern redirect as "vandalism" was not appropriate, IMO. The AfD on that article resulted in a consensus to merge and redirect to Howard Stern. Шизомби 01:09, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] subst warning messages
Hi, remember to add subst: before your warning messages. This allows the text to be substituted so it doesn't have to look for the template each time talk pages are displayed>>> {{test}} should be written as {{subst:test}}. Thanks and happy editing!--Kungfu Adam (talk) 02:23, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] You user name
Will you consider changing it please? it's a bit inflammatory. Also please assume good faith rather than bad in the first instance. Some people are testing. Minor vandalism isn't a big deal, so a small amount of simple vandalism by a user is best delt with by simply adding the test template and not skipping straight to test4. Plus if you spot vandalism please revert it. This is the most important part of fighting vandalism. Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 16:19, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for requesting the name change. The easiest way to change names however is simple to abandon this account and create a new one with the new name. You can redirect this talk page to point to the new one and mention that you used to be called by this name on your new talk page. That way you don't have to wait for the developers.
