Troy Reeb (born 1969 in Toronto, Ontario and raised in Alberta) is a Canadian journalist who, since 2001, has worked as a correspondent and substitute anchor for Global National.
Reeb was named Global TV's bureau chief in Washington, DC in 2004 after making a name for himself in the Ottawa bureau, in part by using unusual anecdotes and sometimes zany graphics to spice up political coverage.
Prior to joining the national news, Reeb was a reporter and commentator for Global Ontario CIII, where among other responsibilities he hosted Focus Ontario. Previous to that, he worked 10 years in radio, with approximately half that time spent in smaller cities such as Saskatoon and Yellowknife, and the other half covering national and international events for Broadcast News, the radio service of the Canadian Press.
In addition to Global National, other news programs Reeb has hosted for Global include Global Sunday, and the short-lived Ottawa Inside-Out.
On August 21, 2006 Reeb was promoted from Global National Washington Bureau Chief to Vice-President, News Operations, Global News and CH News. In this key strategic role, Reeb will be responsible for coordinating all News efforts at the local and national level, providing direction to the cross-Canada team of local News Directors, as well as the Global National staff, and managing and developing resources across the network on a daily basis.
He graduated from Lethbridge Community College in 1988.
