Troutbeck Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Troutbeck Park is a farm to the north of Troutbeck village in South Lakeland, Cumbria. Beatrix Potter purchased it in 1923 when there was a risk of its being sold for development, in order to keep it intact and a working farm. She bred Herdwick sheep there, and became president of the Herdwick Sheep Breeders' Association.

It was one of the fourteen farms which Beatrix Potter left to the National Trust when she died in 1943.
