Trout Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in Klickitat County, Washington, United States. The population was 494 at the 2000 census.

Trout Lake is located at 45°59′44″N, 121°31′14″W (45.995522, -121.520645)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.1 square miles (18.4 km²), of which, 7.1 square miles (18.3 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.70%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 494 people, 210 households, and 144 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 70.0 people per square mile (27.1/km²). There were 290 housing units at an average density of 41.1/sq mi (15.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 94.94% White, 1.01% Native American, 0.81% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 1.62% from other races, and 1.42% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.24% of the population.

There were 210 households out of which 31.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.1% were married couples living together, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.0% were non-families. 24.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.81.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 23.7% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 23.7% from 25 to 44, 32.8% from 45 to 64, and 12.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 97.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $35,104, and the median income for a family was $39,861. Males had a median income of $43,125 versus $26,875 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $18,253. About 9.7% of families and 14.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.1% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
