Troupe da Gaita

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Troupe da Gaita is a harmonica group from Curitiba, in the Brazilian southern state Paraná.

It is formed around chromatic harmonica player Ronald Silva, one of the pioneers of harmonica in Brazil, and one of Brazil's best players.

"Troupe da Gaita", which means "Harmonica Gang", is derived from Ronalds previous work, the "Orchestra Harmônicas de Curitiba", which is a full harmonica orchestra with over 25 years of history, still working, although without Mr. Ronald Silva.

The musicians of the Troupe are:

  • Ronald Silva (harmonicas and arrangements)
  • Benevides Júnior (harmonicas)
  • Alexandre Kozlowski (harmonicas)
  • Gilberto Lima (harmonicas)
  • Guga Motim (harmonicas)
  • Jonas Motim (harmonicas)
  • Marcelo Ricciardi (guitar)
  • André Pereira (bass)
  • Paulo Mendes (percussion and drums)
