Troublewit

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Troublewit is a specially pleated paper used for entertainment purposes. Its origins go back to the 18th Century. [1]

They are used to form various items, such as hats, by stage entertainers and illusionists. The accordion-style creasing pattern allows the stiff paper to be transformed into a variety of shapes, and also allows it to be compressed into a small space. The model is transformed to various shapes during a performance, according to an accompanying story.
