The name Karen has been used for twelve tropical cyclones worldwide.
Atlantic
- 1989's Tropical Storm Karen - formed near Isle of Youth, bringing heavy rainfall and some damage to Cuba, but no casualties.
- 1995's Tropical Storm Karen - minimal storm that was absorbed by Hurricane Iris.
- 2001's Hurricane Karen - caused moderate damage and sank some ships in Bermuda as an extratropical storm, later made landfall at Nova Scotia as a tropical storm
- 2007's Hurricane Karen - Category 1 hurricane in the tropical Atlantic, never approached land
Western Pacific
- 1948's Super Typhoon Karen - remained over open waters
- 1952's Typhoon Karen - struck South Korea
- 1956's Typhoon Karen/Lucille - crossed northern Philippines[1]
- 1960's Typhoon Karen - left 56 dead and 7,000 homeless in the Philippines
- 1962's Typhoon Karen - destroyed 95% of the buildings on Guam and caused 11 deaths overall, resulting in its retirement
- Additionally, 2004's Typhoon Rananim was named Karen by PAGASA
