- 1952's Typhoon Bess
- 1957's Typhoon Bess - hit southern Japan.
- 1960's Typhoon Bess (1960 TY 30)
- 1963's Super Typhoon Bess (1963 STY 20) - hit southern Japan.
- 1965's Super Typhoon Bess (1965 STY 34)
- 1968's Typhoon Bess (1968 TY 19)
- 1971's Super Typhoon Bess (1971 STY 30)
- 1974's Typhoon Bess (1974 TY 27) - hit Hainan Island and the northern Philippines.
- 1979's Typhoon Bess (1979 TY 02)
- 1982's Super Typhoon Bess (1982 STY 11) - hit southern Japan and caused 59 deaths.
The name Bess was retired after the 1982 season, and was replaced by Brenda.
