Trondenes

Trondenes is a parish and a former municipality in Troms county, Norway.
The parish was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The city of Harstad was separated from Trondenes January 1, 1904. The districts of Sandtorg and Skånland were separated from Trondenes July 1, 1926. The rest of Trondenes (together with Sandtorg) was merged with Harstad January 1, 1964.
