[edit] Disney Channel Logo

Why have you changed the Disney Channel logo from the SVG I created to another one. The reason I created the SVG was so we have a scaleable vector version of the logo, as Wikipedia recommends. I know it doesn't have the 3D appearance, but that was to keep it within the Fair Use policy, and is something I planed on working on in the future. I am putting my SVG back for these reasons.

[edit] RE: Disney Channel Logo

I understand what you are saying. My version of the logo is traced from an image that was from the Disney Channel UK site, therefore it is very close to the 'official' one. I state it as a recreation because the text on the logo was totally remade, but I was very careful to make sure it looked the same as the original image by using the same fonts. Also, it uses the same colours as the plain, generic version of the logo. However, I do know there are a few errors, which I plan on fixing soon (by retracing the logo, and trying to create the 3D look).

One problem I have with the logo you uploaded is the 3D effects on it are totally different to ones elsewhere.

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Disney Channel 2002.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Disney Channel 2002.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:46, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disney Channel Logo (again)

There is no need to make a personal attack towards me. I feel it is more appropriate to use the SVG logo rather than the version you have uploaded.

Mainly, the SVG version is a vector, and therefore it is easier to use on Wikipedia as it is scaleable without loss of quality. Also, the version you have uploaded does not resemble the version used on air, or on any promotional material I have seen, compared to my SVG version which resembles the official 'flat' design used by Disney Channel. Furthermore, your version does not have an appropriate Fair Use Rationale, therefore it is at risk of deletion under the Wikipedia policies for such material. For these reasons, for now at least, I will continue to edit all Disney Channel articles so that they use the SVG logo.

At the end of the day, the SVG and your image are exactly the same design, so it makes no difference at all.
