[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Sanjaya at Seattle Center.JPG

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Sanjaya at Seattle Center.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.

Please note that images licensed for use on Wikipedia only, or for non-commercial use, are not accepted by Wikipedia; see image use policy (fair use exceptions are unlikely to apply). Regards, Mike Rosoft 07:58, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

  • Two questions. First: did you really take this photograph? If not, then you are in no position to release it under the GFDL license or into public domain. Second: your licensing information is contradictory. You can't have the image both GFDL-licensed and in public domain; the former imposes some restriction on its use (see GFDL); the latter allows it to be used by anybody and for any purpose (see public domain). So which one is it? - Mike Rosoft 09:40, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Sanjaya with Mom Jillian.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Sanjaya with Mom Jillian.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:10, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Jillian Recchi Blyth, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Jillian Recchi Blyth is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Jillian Recchi Blyth saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. andy 17:15, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
