Sad state of affairs. You should make some user pages that are really USER PAGES. To limit other than direct information on the main wiki site I understand (although you don't enforce that either except with those you differ on beliefs). BUT some people like to know who and what you are doing and that is part of what the user page is supposed to be. Wike is Not supposed to be a site that limits free conversation and information on the user page. SO since you allow all others to put whatever they want in their user pages. (just look around if you don't believe me), then you should create a special user page for those who have not popular opinions.
User pages which can't be "Used by the User freely without censorship" are not really USER pages are they? SO what can we put on the "non-user" page? And why are all others allowed to put whatever "specie" they want on theirs? For example when someone puts up their research on their scientific project as we did you don't seem to think thats spam? Yet its the same thing. We think its because you seek to destroy that which you don't understand.

- It doesn't need to be as dramatic as you're trying to make it. If you're doing research, get it published in a peer-reviewed journal, and it's quite likely it could be used as a source for a Wikipedia article. Wikipedia is never the first place for your research to go- see Wikipedia:No original research for explanation. See also WP:NOT#Wikipedia_is_not_your_web_host for an explanation of why your user page is not your page. As always, feel free to exercise your freedom of speech on your own website. The money that runs Wikipedia is meant to support a free encyclopedia, not free homepages for the world. Friday (talk) 14:09, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
I can't help but notice you're still ranting and raving about censorship. I deleted your user page because it was spam. It's not appropriate for you to use Wikipedia pages for advertising purposes. Also, I should point out that editors who exhaust the community's patience can be blocked from editing indefinitely. Friday (talk) 18:23, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dial back the rhetoric...
...a notch, please. Wikipedia is a site that is very emphatically not censored. It has a clear and specific purpose, however—we are here to create a free encyclopedia. Our efforts are aimed at that goal, and we tend to discourage activity on this site that isn't relevant to the project.
Wikipedia isn't a soapbox, political platform, or forum to present or debate original research. We expect all participants here to avoid anything that resembles a personal attack on another editor, and we expect courtesy, decorum, and civility as a condition of that participation.
If you'd like to contribute to writing, editing, or improving our encyclopedia articles, welcome—check out our instructions for getting started. If you'd prefer to accuse people of censorship, promote pet conspiracy theories on the Reference Desk, advertise your web site, or call the adminstrators of this site "Hitlerite[s]", then I'm afraid you're in the wrong place. [edit] Reference desk
Is this really a reference desk question? Almost sounds like you're trying to advance some conspiracy theory or something. Friday (talk) 17:56, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
It appears that SteveBaker has provided you with a very detailed answer ([1]) to your question, along with several very good reasons why your current approach to the Reference Desk is meeting with such resistance.
You seem to be under the mistaken impression that Wikipedia is an open forum to come chat about your favourite conspiracy theories and advertise your products. It's rather like someone walking into the Encyclopedia Britannica offices to discourse on evil oil companies and distribute handbills. (Actually, we have a bit more tolerance for that sort of thing than Britannica would.) Once again, I invite you to contribute something to this encyclopedia. That's why we're here, and that's what we expect people to do on this web site.
If you'd like to talk about your own views and present your own opinions and advertising, feel free to do it on your own web site. Inexpensive web hosting is available from dozens of companies around the world, and they'll let you put up just about anything that you please. Wikipedia, however, is an encyclopedia project and not a soapbox. Your editing privileges will be suspended if you're not prepared to contribute politely and productively to the project and do your campaigning somewhere else. [edit] Please consider your options
Hello TripleBatteryLife,
Have you considered that your research and findings would be more than welcome on any of several websites that offer low-cost or free hosting to anyone and everyone who has something to share with the general public? Have you tried searching Google for "Free Web Host"?
You might even consider that a link to such a page might even survive scrutiny if it were unobtrusively included somewhere on your Wikipedia user page, many Wikipedia contributors have a few links connecting to outside interests that are relevant to their participation here at Wikipedia.
If you were to consider this option, it might lend more credibility to your research and assertions; and it also might obviate the need for you to complain about "censorship". As it stands now, your remarks and complaints may be considered by some to be entirely unproductive. This not only detracts from the merit of your research and findings on battery life, it also increases the chances that your participation here will be deemed disruptive (See e.g., WP:POINT).
Please consider that there may be more productive ways for you to demonstrate your willingness and ability to help improve the quality of Wikipedia. If that is not your objective, it may be wise to seriously reconsider your participation here.
This is offered as a friendly suggestion to help you increase your chances of ongoing and enjoyable participation as a contributor to Wikipedia. Thanks in advance for your consideration. dr.ef.tymac 20:13, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked
Hi, I have blocked you from editing. Your recent contributions have been problematic in that you appear to be mostly interested in spamming and conspiracy mongering. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. If you wish to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, let me know and I'll unblock you. Friday (talk) 17:46, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
